Man arrested after attempting to hide stolen vehicle with tarp, Halifax County deputies say

A man in Littleton, North Carolina, is facing charges after deputies discovered him trying to conceal a stolen vehicle with a tarp, as reported by the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday. The incident unfolded when deputies responded to a report of a stolen motor vehicle at an address in Littleton. Upon investigation, they located the vehicle behind a residence in the area, partially covered with a tarp in an apparent attempt to hide it.

The individual in question, identified as 57-year-old Ricky Edmonds of Littleton, was subsequently arrested by deputies. Edmonds now faces charges of larceny of a motor vehicle and possession of a stolen motor vehicle. After his arrest, he was transported to the Halifax County Detention Center, where he is being held without bond. Edmonds is scheduled to appear in court on February 22 to answer to the charges brought against him. The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office did not provide details on how the vehicle was stolen or the circumstances leading to its discovery behind the home in Littleton.
