Sen. Ron Johnson: Democrats' 'Clear and Present Danger' to Americans

Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., spoke on his home turf Monday at the Republican National Convention, noting that the GOP was founded in Wisconsin to oppose slavery.

He said the people of Wisconsin are like most Americans. “They believe the purpose of government is to improve lives, not make them more difficult,” he told the crowd. “Unfortunately, Vice President [Kamala] Harris and President [Joe] Biden have made our lives less safe and far more expensive. In other words, a lot more difficult.”

He added that Americans “don’t want woke equity. They want God-given equality.”

Johnson said that the modern Democratic Party is not the same party as in previous generations, but a radical party.

“Today’s Democrat agenda, their policies, are a clear and present danger to Americans, to our institutions, our values, and our people,” he said. “This radical agenda includes biological males competing against girls and the sexualization and indoctrination of our children.”

He said that the Biden administration has forgotten American families and the middle class. “Under Republicans, those forgotten Americans are forgotten no more.”

He said the GOP is “the party of opportunity, liberty, and prosperity for all.”

“We proved we know how to make life better for all Americans,” Johnson said. “We can do it again with a secure border, smaller government, less regulation, and lower taxes.”
