Investigation underway into Milwaukee train derailment

Three Union Pacific train cars derailed early Saturday morning.

An investigation has been initiated following the derailment of three Union Pacific trains in Milwaukee. The incident occurred near Lake Pkwy and E. Howard Avenue around 5:20 a.m., according to a spokesperson for the railroad.

Of the three derailed cars, two were empty, while one contained soybean oil. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries resulting from the derailment. The cause of the incident is currently under investigation.
