Two more French bulldogs stolen in separate DC thefts this week

A surge in dognappings around the DMV (District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia) continues, with two more French bulldogs stolen in the District this past week. D.C. Police are actively searching for suspects in two separate incidents and are determined to reunite the stolen dogs with their owners.

The first theft occurred on Galveston Place Southwest when a burglar broke into a home by smashing a window on Monday around 5:50 p.m. The burglar stole unspecified property along with a 2-year-old male French bulldog named Tyson, who also responds to the name “Cheese.” Tyson is described as gray with a white patch on the front of his chest.

In the second incident on Friday afternoon, a woman in Southeast D.C. listed her dog Mocha for sale online. When a potential buyer contacted her to purchase Mocha, the individual, along with another person, arrived at the 3300 block of 14th Place SE. Instead of completing the sale, the perpetrator grabbed Mocha from the woman. When she attempted to retrieve her dog, one of the individuals pointed a handgun at her and threatened to shoot. The woman left the scene and promptly called 911 to report the incident to the police.

D.C. Police are urging the public to provide any information that may help in locating the stolen dogs and identifying the suspects involved in these dognapping cases.
