Heavy rain brings flooding to Milwaukee after tornado warnings in central Wisconsin

On Monday afternoon, a storm system swept into the Milwaukee area, bringing with it significant flooding to the city. Numerous individuals captured and shared videos showcasing the extent of the flooding across different parts of Milwaukee. Responding to the situation, the Department of Public Works announced on Monday evening that additional crews had been mobilized to clear sewers, assuring the public that all flooding issues would be addressed by the end of the night.

According to Aidan Kuroski, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, Milwaukee was forecasted to receive approximately one inch of rainfall from the storm system, which originated from Illinois. While the weather service issued tornado warnings for the area in response to reported sightings, Kuroski clarified around 4:45 p.m. on Monday that none of these sightings had been confirmed.

Throughout the afternoon, the weather service issued both tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings for various parts of southeastern Wisconsin. However, as of 5:40 p.m., all warnings had expired, though the Milwaukee area continued to experience adverse weather conditions, including heavy rain, lightning, and hail.
